Dyax holds the core patents in phage display technology. In 1996, we initiated a patent licensing program as a result of the widespread adoption of phage display by biotechnology and biopharmaceutical companies, as well as research institutions.

The patents that Dyax licenses include claims to methods and biological intermediates used in displaying 3-D structures on cells, spores or viruses, including libraries that use fusion proteins incorporating the gene III or gene VIII phage coat proteins. The Dyax patent rights consist of a portfolio of patents and applications including United States Patent Nos. 5,223,409; 5,403,484; 5,571,698; 5,837,500; 6,979,538; 7,118,879; and 7,208,293 and other patents or applications in Europe, Canada, Israel, Ireland, and Japan.
